Head to Toe: How to Wear White Jeans after Labor Day

This week, we’re taking the “Head to Toe” segment to new heights. Last week, I kept it simple and showed you an extremely basic weekend look. For this week, I wanted to tackle a more complicated look. Here’s what I love about this week’s look: It works on the weekend, on campus and at the office (business casual).
Here are the details:
1. White Jeans
2. Chambray Shirt
3. Lambswool Sweater
4. Wool Watch Cap
5. Fair Isle Socks
6. Chukka Boot
7. Army Belt
8. Watch
Obviously the key item in this look are the white jeans. When picking out your clothes, reach for a key item. After you’ve decided on a key item, build the rest of your look around it. Now, most people get a little nervous when they see the white jeans. So how do you keep yourself from looking like you’re ready for a party in the Hamptons? Simple, pair them with a strong wool sweater and serious boots. If you keep that in mind you’ll be fine.
Instead of reaching for a typical oxford shirt, I grabbed a chambray shirt. The chambray shirt gives it more of a “workwear” look as opposed to an “ivy league” look.
Next, I went with a strong burnt orange lambswool sweater. The color and fabric scream fall/winter.
For those cooler days, you need a watch cap. You’ve got to keep you’re head warm, period. This army green one is a great contrast to the sweater.
I love the fair isle wool socks. They are perfect for fall/winter. When the temperature drops, you have to grab a sock that correlates with the weather and the shoe. These definitely fit the bill.
The Chukka boot. Such an understated and simple boot that looks good with everything, especially those fair isle socks.
A simple clasp army belt. Continuing the workwear theme with this belt. It’s simple, understated and not leather. Every guy has a leather belt. Why not mix it up?
Last but not least, is the watch. My friend Brian showed us how to nail this item several weeks ago. It’s simple, classic and everything you need. You don’t need you’re watch to tell you the time in 5 different countries, trust me.
So there you have it. Now, you have the tools to keep rocking those white jeans straight through the holidays.
