Until the last couple years, the typical dress shirt shelf was stacked with a cut of cloth that could double as a wind sail from the Golden Age of Pirates (seemingly came with a parachute built in). Now designers are creating great fitting shirts so you don’t have to worry about looking like you have an inner tube around your waist. I’d tried a bunch of different shirts, and labels, but still hadn’t found the perfect fit.
That is until now - enter Simon Spurr, the exquisitely tailored designer from across the pond. I saw this shirt and had to try it on. The fit is perfect. I mean perfect. It’s a great slim fit, meaning it has nice high arm holes- no worrying about flying squirrel wings under your arms. It’s made from 120-ply cotton and has a slightly shrunken collar. This shirt is what you want, but you don’t know it.
Allow me to clear something up while I’m on collars. Guys, choose a dress shirt whose collar is relatively near the size of the lapel on your jacket. For instance, don’t wear a slim lapel jacket with a shirt that has a three inch collar (trust me, that looks ridiculous).
