thread counts

The idea of reclaiming style and that the thread counts.

Friday.Weekend.My Latest Purchase

When I set out for this purchase I knew exactly what I wanted. There was no settling for mediocrity. One stop wouldn’t get the job done. Many stores, with their poorly lit dressing rooms and lackluster satisfaction couldn’t slow me down- I was on a mission. And after hours spent and miles walked- I found ‘the one’.

Why is this jacket so great? Why is it ‘the one’? For starters, it’s Hugo Boss. I love the fit of the German company’s timeless blazer. Hugo Boss walks the tailored-but-not-too-snug line; and walks it perfectly. Next, would be the warmth of personal feel in the bespoke details. Here’s what I mean by bespoke details: The buttons on the sleeves are functional. And yes, functional buttons matter. They’re the sign of a quality jacket that gives you that little extra something. Then the ticket pocket- that small second pocket placed above the right pocket on a blazer or suit coat. The ticket pocket originated with country suits, when men would take the train into town and needed a place to store their ticket. It’s a classic, dapper feature. And along with classic, this jacket is double vented. When it comes to classic elegance, the Europeans do it right. The double vent is no exception.

The navy blazer is something you can’t afford to get wrong. Grab a friend who’s honest, pick 5 stores and try on as many blazers as you can muster. You’ll be well on your way to the perfect fit- and maybe find ‘the one’.
