thread counts

The idea of reclaiming style and that the thread counts.

Designer/Label of the week

Menswear has taken off in the last couple years. Designers and labels are popping up everywhere. The interesting/frustrating thing is that many of them are unattainable to the average consumer. Each Tuesday I’ll highlight a designer or label I really like that’s accesible. Cause let’s be honest, what’s the point of talking about something you can’t actually buy?

There are some labels who do things well. Then there are some labels who do things right. This next label would be the latter. Gitman Vintage. Gitman Vintage got it’s start 6 years ago as a division of the famous Gitman Bros Shirtmakers. The idea behind Gitman Vintage was to pull out old fabric books and create a specially curated collection from old fabrics, with true authenticity. While most companies have moved their operations overseas making cheap shirts of poor quality, Gitman remains true to the traditions that made them who they are today. All Gitman Vintage items, like all their other labels, are still made in Ashland, PA where Max Gitman moved the company after leaving NYC in the late 1930s. What has resulted in them remaing true to their traditions? Clothing of the highest quality and craftsmanship. What do I like about Gitman Vintage? High Quality shirts, great patterns and a phenomenal fit. If you’re looking for a label that makes quality shirts that will last you more than just a season, you’re looking in the right place.
