My Latest Purchase
Well, it’s Friday again which means it’s time for the “My Latest Purchase” segment. This could be one of my most thought out and favorite purchases ever. This purchase was over 6 months in the making and it was well worth the wait. The purchase? Persol sunglasses. Persol was started in 1917 by Guiseppi Ratti. The name Persol means “for the sun.” There’s something about the art of quality craftsmanship and things that are still done by hand. Persols are no exception to this statement. The frames are still handmade in Italy in the same factory they started out in over 90 years ago. Also, the lenses are made of crystal, handcut, and placed in the frames by hand. And if that isn’t enough to make you want a pair, they’ll last a lifetiime. My favorite model? The 714. They fold at the bridge, and halfway down the stem so you can slip them in your pocket with ease. Here are a couple shots of the pair I purchased.
